Each member, whether General or Specialty, must complete the following requirements in order to be an active member in PDS.
***All active members are placed on two lists that are sent to the LSUSD at the end of the year.***

Attendance will be recorded at each meeting via the Flare app.
Please have the meeting ticket from the app to be accounted for.
All meetings will be held in the Life Sciences Annex Building in room A101 at 6:30pm.
General membership: 4 regular meetings, 1 specialty meeting
Specialty membership: 6 regular meetings, 2 specialty meetings
Each member, whether General or Specialty, must submit a one-time payment of $20 by cash or
Venmo (@LSUPreDental) or $21 by card during meetings.

Each member must submit a shadowing form that can be downloaded from our forms page signed by each Dentist or Hygienist
he or she chooses to shadow. While shadowing, we should always be respectful and dress appropriately (usually scrubs unless otherwise stated) as we are representing PDS and are grateful for the opportunity given to us to learn!

General membership: 3 different dental offices for a total of 12 or more hours
Specialty membership: 4 different dental offices for a total of 16 or more hours
Submit photo of signed shadowing form via the "Shadowing Hours" section on the Flare app.
Members must seek out service opportunities through PDS and within the community. All of the PDS-affiliated service opportunities will be emailed to those on the email list by our Service Coordinator. However, only a limited number of non-PDS affiliated community service opportunities may be promoted by PDS. Members must have an event manager at the site of the event sign the service form that can be downloaded from our forms page.
General membership: 10 service hours
Specialty membership: 14 service hours
Submit a photo of the signed service form via the Flare app and email a time-stamped photo to firstname.lastname@example.org.

Each member, whether General or Specialty, must attend at least one restaurant fundraiser event per semester and provide a photo of his or her receipt. In order to fulfill the point requirement, members must mention PDS when ordering, which allows for a percentage of the restaurant's earnings to go towards Smile Train. Event dates and times can be found on our online calendar or through emails as they are planned. Members may RSVP using links attached in the emails.
Submit a selfie with the receipt (with a timestamp) on the Flare app.
Max 3 filler points are given throughout the year to make up for any missing requirement points. These points fill in for everything EXCEPT shadowing hours, volunteer hours and fundraiser participation.
Each member, whether General or Specialty, must attend at least one social event per semester that is put on by PDS. Social events serve as a way for members to congregate and establish companionship. Event dates can be found on our online calendar or through emails
as they are planned. Members may RSVP using links attached in the emails. When you sign in at the event, your points
are automatically accounted for.
In order to attain membership, each member must participate in monetary or voluntary action for our Spring Fundraiser Event. Our Spring Fundraiser event will be for Smile Train, and the exact date is TBA!
